Originally built by local businessman Joseph C. Metlen in 1897, Hotel Metlen has been a historical and social landmark in Southwestern Montana for generations.

This beautiful 3-story, 42-room brick hotel still has many of the period furnishings and the original woodwork that sets it apart from any other.

The Metlen back bar came from the nearby ghost town of Bannack and is quite possibly the most valuable and ornate bar in the state. It's made entirely of oak except for the 22-foot mahogany board which makes the bar top, and weighs nearly one and a half tons.
